La Luna Bistro - Food & Wine Festival

I wanted to put this mini-post up toot-sweet for Melbourne readers in particular.

As you probably know the Food and Wine Festival is in full swing at the moment. The Coldstream Hills Restaurant Express brings you loads of top restaurants serving up $35 lunches. You get two courses and a glass of Victorian vino, which, when you see the list of participating establishments, is an absolute bargain!

There are 6 days to go and many of the restaurants are not booked out, so why not go and try somewhere special for a fraction of what it would normally cost to dine there?

I had lunch at Adrian Richardson's La Luna Bistro today. It was nothing short of spectacular and worth every penny of my $35. I had gnocchi that was simply heaven, the little potato pillows melted in my mouth, covered in a creamy mushroom sauce and had me wishing for a bottomless plate.
Mr Tea enjoyed some beautiful pork sausages on a bed of mash, covered in gravy and spicy tomato relish. Not a drop of oil could be seen on the plate afterward, the sign of a truly great saussie.

Our desserts were also gorgeous, the crack of the creme brulee, served in an espresso cup, could have been heard from the other side of Rathdowne Street and the vanilla bean panacotta and saffron poached pears were sweet and smooth.

The service at La Luna Bistro is also fabulous, the waiters are efficient, friendly and hilarious, making it a very relaxed place to enjoy a meal. I will be going back for dinner very soon me thinks.

Get your skates on and get out there to make the most of these lunches Melbournians!
Now you'll have to excuse me while I head off to the Hawkers Market...stay tuned.

Enjoy!
